Xbox Mode Is Rolling Out Now Across Supported Devices

Microsoft outlined three actions customers can take immediately to make sure Windows 11 systems are prepared for Xbox Mode whenever it becomes available. In a blog post devoted to the feature, Microsoft advised Windows 11 users who want to test Xbox Mode to check their system settings and download all the most recent Windows updates. To download Xbox Mode as soon as it’s available, you must enable the “Get the latest updates as soon as they are available” option. When Xbox Mode is accessible, users may turn it on by heading to Settings, choosing Gaming from the menu on the left, clicking Xbox Mode, and then toggling it on.

Once Xbox Mode is activated, it can be entered from the Game Bar Settings menu or by pressing the Windows Key + F11. Users can also access Xbox Mode via Windows 11’s Task View, which opens by pressing the Windows Key + Tab. Additionally, users on supported handheld devices, including the ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X, can boot directly into Xbox Mode on startup once it is available. It is currently unclear which specific regions have access to Xbox Mode as of this writing, so users are encouraged to keep their Windows 11 devices updated to receive Xbox Mode as soon as it’s available.

Xbox Mode Comes At The Right Time For Microsoft

The global debut of Xbox Mode coincides with a period of significant transformation for both Microsoft and the Xbox brand. On April 21, Microsoft announced that one of its changes would see decreases to Xbox Game Pass subscription prices. The monthly costs for PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate were lowered to $13.99 and $23.99, respectively. Future Call of Duty releases won’t be accessible as Day One Game Pass titles, which is a significant drawback of the change. Microsoft then clarified that future Call of Duty titles would be available on Game Pass a year after debut, and that the change has no bearing on any Call of Duty games that are presently available on Xbox Game Pass.
